Kootenay Bay - Creston Valley - Crawford Bay
Heading to Nelson from Cranbrook, BC. (Early 80's), driving up the Creston Valley, I stopped at this boat launch on the East Side of Kootenay Lake. (near Gray Creek). It was this very moment that I knew I wanted to spend time here. Ten minutes later, driving down the road, not long, behold - "For Rent" sign.

I moved to the Kootenays pretty much by accident in 1984. I was touring the area in my van, when I stopped at this boat launch.
Up until then, I had lived on Vancouver Island, and had planned to return to the island after a few months touring the Interior.....Until I arrived here. Crawford Bay, BC.
But the time would come, when my roving curiousity would call for another Kootenay experience, and then another BC experience. ....I had plenty in the works.
Occassionally, I still get back to the Kootenay's, and I am still amazed by the sheer beauty and rich history.
