Nice job on the face lift!  Always, a great little spot to stop and refresh.
Although I did spend time in the East Kootenays back in the 80's - I am not up to speed on the dynamics of the community at present.  I have always been in awe of the great Rockies - I took the tour when I could - 80's.

I have friends that travel there to hunt the big trophy Elk and Wild Turkeys, a Step-father raised in the mining community of Kimberly,  but I have not spent as much time there as I might have liked.

It was the point of entry upon returning to BC after five years in the east.  I knew my way around town quite well - I even knew where I wanted to stay, and had 'friend' from the Kootenays there to welcome me back - which was awesome.  All those years since, and five in Ontario - it felt like I had been away two weeks on vacation - and back in Cranbrook, BC.  My son was anxious to see his father, so we spent a night and boogied on to destination - Kamloops. Oct 2002

The truth is, I spent more time in Montana than in the East Kootenays.  I was usually just passing thru.
